The following e-mail exchange should be read from the top downwards. Timothy obviously hasn't investigated The Meier Case in considerable depth but he did visit BEAM for 4 hours, he has investigated many other UFO cases and written some notable books regarding extraterrestrial visitation. So his opinion on The Meier Case should be known and his reasons for rejecting the truthfulness of it should be understood in order to further our knowledge of it and it's detractors. For some who read this, it may backfire and push them further away from the realisation that it is a truthful alien contactee case with a special message for mankind. So be it, they are probably not "ready" for it for various reasons.

I read your Alien  Liason book and the sequel and found them very enlightening. Thanks  partially to your effort I discovered the most important ufo or alien  contactee case that is still ongoing: The Billy Meier case. 

Please kindly and honestly tell me why you never  gave it your full attention? Did Lou Zinstag convince you to avoid it  for some reason?

I've referenced the Meier case briefly in a couple of my books.  I actually 'discovered' the Eduard 'Billy' Meier story during an orchestral tour in India in 1964, when by a strange set of circumstances I met two people in Delhi who had befriended him there. I learned that Meier had fallen in love with one of the space girls, seemed quite genuine, and suggested I try and contact him. He had recently been expelled from India (together with his monkey!) on vagrancy charges (I have the newspaper article alluding to this) and had gone to Switzerland. I eventually tracked him down via his sister near Zurich and communicated with him by phone the following year.  At that time, I got the impression that he was genuine. 
 
In the 1970s, however, having spent about four hours with him on his farm, I strongly felt that although some of what he told me rang true, much of it was bullshit. I don't have time to go into too many details, except that I came across enough evidence to convince me that many of his later claims and photographs (i.e. when he was in Switzerland) were probably bogus. When I visited him at his farm, I vividly recall Lou (Louise) Zinsstag  returning to Meier one of his photographs showing a model he'd made of a 'beamship', identical to those he'd photographed at the farm. He went red with embarrassment. He could have said that he'd simply made it after photographing the 'real' craft - but he didn't.  I also saw a few bits and pieces in his barn of what looked like identical materials used in the construction of the model. He also ran a film for us showing him strutting around the farm with a ridiculous red  "ray run", which he said his space girls had given him, and a hole made through a tree with it. As for photographs of the "Space Girls", you must be aware that these apparently were lifted from magazines. 
 
Also, I did not like the man - and the feeling was mutual: he told Lou never to bring me back to his farm (not that I wanted to).  She remained convinced of the genuineness of his story. And, for what it's worth, my feeling is that Meier probably did have some ET contacts (and took genuine photos) during his earlier wanderings in India, Jordan, etc., but that, for whatever reason, he was "dropped" (as have a number of other "contactees"). Thus, in later years in Switzerland, he fabricated contact claims and photographic material, weaving in some genuine information in with the bogus stuff.

I trust this is helpful. You might also find Kal K. Korff's book on Meier useful - Spaceships of the Pleiades - if you haven't read it already.

I appreciate your response and I will always respect your work in the field of Ufology.

You  have some compelling reasons to conclude that Meier is not or is no  longer a genuine contactee, however I get the distinct feeling that  perhaps you did not get to the bottom of the case and dismissed it a  little prematurely. Surely one can almost expect claims that are  apparently bullshit to be spoken by contactees since we are conditioned  since childhood by our currently Earth-bound and degenerate society can  we not? And as for models, perhaps he did not defend himself because he  knew the truth and let you decide for yourself whether to go further in  your investigation or not.

Do these witnesses make any difference to Meier's validity?

There  are also the metal alloys that contained high levels of the element  Thulium and the beamship-produced sounds that after spectrum analysis  were found to be unreproducable by the available synthesizers of the  time. What do you make of them?

I havent read Kal K Korffs book but the man seems to  have been on a crusade against Meier since Wendelle Stevens refused to  pay for his flight over to Switzerland or so I heard, but I will take up  your suggestion so as to read all sides of the story.

I cant help but wonder how the Meier Case might look  today if you carried out a thorough investigation. Certainly clearer if  not any less controversial!

Thanks James.  Re the witnesses, how many are members of Meier's cult? Somewhere I have a photo of him with a group of witnesses and there's an obviously super-imposed photo of a "beamship" in the sky above them.  There are also the laughable photos of the "wedding cake" craft near a fir tree, so obviously a model set up by Meier. And the photo of the "Eye of God". Re the metals, how professional was the analysis? At least one of those who analysed his photos, was a dubious character (I've forgotten his name temporarily, but he was an American researcher friend of WCS.  I've heard the "beamship" noises at his house and was distinctly unimpressed. And you must know that his (former) wife has derided many of his claims? I could go on, but I have neither the inclination or time. 
 
Why don't you become the (hopefully) impartial and thorough investigator of his claims?

Most of the witnesses  seem part of his "cult" but there is at least one who isn't that is also  an ex-Cambodian ambassador to the UN called Phobol Cheng. She  apparently saw at least one female ET close up and many saucers in the  sky in the 60s when she was living in India, at a religious school  called the Ashoka Ashram, I think. Meier was there at the time. Youre  probably familiar with her and the place. Would her word be of great  value in your opinion?

Talking about the photos, many of them seem to be  near a tree as if they might be attached to them but only the ones close  to the camera. Its as if "they" don't want their evidence to be  irrefutable! Or as you say it could be that they were indeed attached to  the trees in question.

I'll be honest with you. I've been investigating the  case as a hobby for 5 years but have not been to Switzerland yet. I'm  already convinced it's authentic after reading most of the materials  currently available in English. You probably now think I'm completely biased and pro-Meier. I understand your reasoning if you come to that conclusion.

Finally,  what do you make of the latest release of UFO-related documents by the  National Archives? Are these the tame documents yet again and why were  the Rendlesham documents "omitted" from the release?

Only  a lack of sufficient funds stops me from going to Switzerland but that  wont be the case for much longer. I'm the sole income-maker with a wife  and 2 kids.
